We’ll be traveling this Thanksgiving, as we do every year, but I know that many of you will be hosting the festivities at home.  Here are a few DIY centerpieces that you could easily whip up before the first guests arrive.  You can get everything you need for these simple centerpieces at the grocery store while you’re picking up the final ingredients for your famous pumpkin pie.

How easy is this?  I had no idea what those green things were, but I knew I’d seem them here in Atlanta.  They are actually green hedge apples.  If you can’t grab them from your neighbors yard, you could use artichokes or green apples.

I love this one.  Grab 3 bell peppers and add flowers.  What could be easier than that?  You could also use these as place card holders.  Just rest your name card in the flowers or cut a slit into the top of the bell pepper and insert your place card.

Okay, this one might take a bit more time, but I think it’s worth it.  I would make a couple of changes, though.  Replace the white mums with more colorful flowers or leaves and use twine or raffia to tie the veggies onto the candles.

This is my favorite of the 4 centerpiece options.  Perfectly simple, yet beautiful and super easy.

Which is your favorite?  Are you hosting Thanksgiving this year?  Will you have a centerpiece?  I’d love to see your pics!

  1. Hey Lori! Great inspirational pics! How sad, I have already moved on in my mind to Christmas! I do that every year, by November I am out of fall mode & into Christmas! I love the picture with the veggies & candles for BHG 🙂

  2. I love the gourd vases in the last photo. We will be going to my MIL’s about 45 minutes away, so no hosting for us. I do love Thanksgiving though so very much looking forward to it. Safe travels to you and your family.
