Hi all, I hope you’ve been enjoying the guest posts. These ladies have been so gracious to contribute while I’m out enjoying some family time. Today it’s Lakeitha from Home to Three Duncan Boys. Her blog so full of inspiring projects and her boys’ rooms is one of my favorites! Welcome Lakeitha!
Well hello there! I’m Lakeitha from Home to Three Duncan Boys, and while Lori is enjoying a much needed vacation, I’m filling in for her today!
The topic today is being daring when it comes to design. For my examples, I’m going to use a few spaces from my own home.
Starting with my boys bedrooms
For my two youngest boys who love cars, I decided to start from there. I knew that I had to go with a cars “theme” for the space. So while painting the room a fabulous shade of blue, I decided to add a black strip to make a street around the room
I literally glued cars directly on the walls!
With my oldest son’s room, I was inspired by a room in the Serena and Lily catalog. What caught my eye the most (along with the wall color) was the shipping palettes used as a headboard. So I headed straight to Lowe’s and asked for shipping palettes! The result? A room I absolutely love!
Another part of his room that I took a chance on was his closet. I decided that it would be better as a little nook for him
Which later became a place to do homework!
Before this post gets too long, I’m going to stop here! But I want to leave you with this thought, never be afraid to take risks in your home even if it’s in a powder room! I’d love to hear what you’ve done to step out of your comfort zone when it comes to decorating!
Thanks Lori for having me over today! I hope you’re having a great time!
Thanks for stopping by Lakeitha!
Aren’t those rooms amazing? Lakeitha’s projects are so creative and outside the box. Love it!
Love the rooms– and the palette idea for a headboard is perfect….may have to use that! Take care, Caroline
I admire LaKeitha for taking on what I call challenging paint projects. My boys are all grown up now and I never would have thought to create a space like that for them. Such fabulous and creative spaces. Thanks for having her as your guest today.
LOVE the cars theme!! You are so creative!
The cars are adorable!!
Her boys rooms are so inspiring. I love the fun colors!
I love Lakeitha and her style! These were fun rooms to watch come together.
Lakeitha…..great room, and you boys are so good not to pull off the cars 🙂 Love the closet used as a homework area.
I’m a new follower of Lakietha’s and I haven’t seen her boy’s bedrooms. So creative! I love the cars glued onto the wall.
