So, I’m working on a project today that includes a window seat. This particular window seat is right in the middle of the room and will separate the beds of two sweet sisters. I want it to be the focal point and also offer some separation for the girls. I know they’re excited about sharing their new room, but everyone needs some privacy now and then.
Much of the bedding has been purchased, so now the work starts on the window seat and windows. The space is quite deep, almost the size of a twin bed, so I decided to have the window seat built out to serve as extra sleeping space for sleepovers. Curtains will be added to the sides to create a secret hideaway when needed.
More specifics on Friday, but here are a few photos that I used for inspiration.
This is a similar size to what I’m working with.
Love the privacy of the curtain.
Love the storage and the flowers!
More great storage and love that fluffy seat cushion.
This one’s just for me. I love the simple lines of the turned legs on the window seat.
Hope you’re all having a great week. Don’t forget about the $100 Target gift card giveaway going on now. You can read more about it here.
I love window seats and think it is great that it can be used as a bed for sleep-overs…such a perfect use of space!! Take care, Caroline
Hi Lori — I’m excited to see what you picked for the bedding and to see the outcome. My girls have twin beds in their room, and one of my many, many projects is to work on getting their room decorated at some point. I need inspiration from you!

What a fun project. I’m looking forward to seeing the room and all the details. Window seats are great for multi-purpose use especially in a child’s room.

The curtains are LOVELY in the 2nd photo!!
